7th Annual Fundraising Supper & Auction A Success!

Friends and neighbors of Fort Lone Tree gathered for the first time in the new Gym for the annual Supper and Auction.  Thanks to the many local merchants and individuals who contributed auction items, guests, bidders and table hosts, over $14,500 was raised.  The funds will go towards melding the propanel-sided gym into the Fort's western atmosphere by adding a western facade to complete the project.

Challenge Grant Awarded for Gymnasium

As a result of your generous giving over the past 2 years, we receivede a Challenge Grant from the Mabee Foundation.  Half of the Gymnasium's project budget was raised which qualified us to receive the $15,000 award.  Thank you for your support and for making this project possible.  With record rainfall this summer, 2008 campers have found the gym a dry haven to play soccer, basketball, group games and lots of scooter riding.

NEXT: Western Facade.  The Fort is known for it's "Frontier" style and western "feel". To keep this feel alive, the next project is to add a western facade to the front of the gym--church and courtyard, two store fronts and a long covered porch.

6th Annual Fundraising Supper & Auction A Success!

New friends were made and old friends united. Together, the guests and contributors gave towards a common goal—to make camper’s experience better at Fort Lone Tree. How did they do that at a dinner and auction?  By giving graciously to the Gym and Game Room Project during the Annual Fundraising Dinner and Auction held Dec. 2nd, 2007!

Thanks to those who prayed for the event, volunteered, provided auction items, hosted tables and auction bidders.  In total, the event raised over $18,000! The Gym will provide a great place for worship, evening activities and a dry space during rainy days for campers!  We are ready to schedule and begin construction as soon as permits are in hand.

If you would like to impact the camper’s experience through this project, you can help in the following ways: financial contributions, material donations, or in-kind services. For more information, please contact Fort Director Eric McNamara at (575)354-4265.

Fort's 2006 Annual Fundraiser Dinner a Success!
The evening was filled with festive violin music, laughter and the buzz of the auctioneer.  Dec. 3 marked the Fort's 5th Annual Fundraiser Supper and Auction.  Guests enjoyed a great dinner and took home lots of great Christmas gifts- a filly, dirt bike, gift certificates, furniture, outdoor gear and more! Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Fort's Gymnasium Capital Campaign to raise $65,000.  Thanks to the individuals and businesses who sponsored talbes and to those who donated auction and dinner items!
The Gymnasium will provide new opportunities for campers: evening activities, large group worship, and a dry space during inclimate weater.  We are excited to see how God will meet this new goal. Contact Eric with questions at (575)354-4265.

PAST PROJECTS

Waterslide is Warmer with New Solar Panels- thanks to the donor of some solar panels, your ride on our 250' commercial water slide will be alot warmer than our 50 degree well water!  Guests have a hard time getting out of the warm water in the exit pool.

Campers- Start Your Engines- campers race their baja-style radio controlled cars on the Fort Lone Tree Speedway. Thanks to the generous individuals and businesses that made this new activitity possible: sponsors are displayed on the hood and doors of each car!

Carpet Ball- we built the first Lone Tree Carpet Ball "court" which has become a front porch favorite.  A great competitive low adventure activity for guests as they lounge in the shade of the front porch!

'05 Feature Project: 250' Fiberglass Waterslide
After many long days and lots of hours of work from Lone Tree staff and volunteers, the first smiling-squeeling campers took their inaugural slide on May 13, 2005 during Home School Camp! Kids and adults (big kids) have a great time flying down the slide! Depending on the "riding form" you choose, you can go down fast enough to please all the thrill seekers, or you can go down at a nice leisurely speed if that's your preference. Either way, it's a great way to cool off on hot summer days. A big "thanks" goes out to everyone who helped make the water slide a huge success and camp favorite!

A very generous donor provided all the funds to purchase the slide.

Thanks to a very successful fundraiser in December 2004, we had all the funds in place to construct the slide and all the supporting structures, build the pumphouse, run electricity more than 1/4 mile to the pumphouse at the bottom of the slide, and install all the plumbing!
The Water slide (as pictured below on April 8, 2005) has 22 of the 25 pieces assembled! Your prayers for this project were answered, thanks!
